I use excel and have songs alphabetically ordered. Each song has its own horizontal section of dates (in chronological order) of my favorite performances. You should see my list for morning dew, lmao.

I also will add dates of versions that i found good, but not exactly sure how good (or more directly, good enough to make the list), are put in red. After a few more listens I either put them in black or delete them.

I also keep track of the first time I hear something, Ill mark the date of the show and what songs i listened to. Half of the time I make comments, i should more regularly. But it gives me a reference as to what I've heard and what I thought about it.

And in conclusion, I could probably date off in chronological order my favorite versions of mostly any song, the spreadsheet is back up, or for any interested patrons in need of suggestions.

nice system wisc. that sounds like it would work well. i have most of my favorite versions committed to memory though too. i just close my eyes and i see the date in my head. i'm a very visual learner, and certain dates just really stick, especially if i revisit those dates several times.

Wow Wis, I thought I was organized (holy shit batman!) I have been in the process of listening from 1970 onward. I am up through the summer of 1973, it has taken me about 1 1/2 years to go through ( as a teacher, HS football coach and a father/husband i listen when I can) and I have been jotting some stuff down, but only things that really stand out like the fall/winter 71 and 72 I have written stuff about but maybe now after hearing wis plan, this wnter once the season is over I may have to start an excel sheet for stuff I like and have. I used to be that detailed when trading on-line foirst started but mainly I use the bookmark system here to help as well!
